Tech Cats Computer Programming Camp Session 2 Battle Royal! Make your own Fortnite style game!
TC3 Kids is a week-long introduction to computer programming and robotics for rising 3rd  rising 8th-grade students. Kids will learn the basics of computer programming, computer science, and robotics through fun, collaborative and creative activities including Battle Royal: Make your own Fortnite style video game coding!

No experience with computer programming or computer science is necessary!  All levels welcome!  

NEW!  This year we are partnering with Black Rocket!  

Black Rocket Battle Royal Make Your Own Fortnite Style Video Game: Fans of Fortnite we need you! Instead of playing the game, design your own. Using a professional 3D game development software, build levels and assets inspired by popular battle royale games like Fortnite. This course includes cartoonish action and battle sequences. Student-created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

TC3 Kids Daily Schedule: Every day between Monday 7/8/2019 and Friday 7/12/2019

8:00 a.m.  9:00 a.m.   Parents may drop off children anytime within this window.   There will be Legos and many other educational games available for play.
9:00 a.m.  12:30 p.m.   Battle Royale Curriculum: Highly interactive, hands-on computer science and coding coursework with Battle Royal game coding!.
12:30 p.m.  1:00 p.m.  Lunch   Each day we have a guest speaker during lunch.  These speakers include local engineers and scientists, representatives from Lynchburg City Economic Development Office and the Future Focus Foundation. These talks will be on topics such as What is an Engineer?  and What Careers use Robots?)
1:00 p.m.  1:45 p.m.  Outdoor play/activities in gym or active games outside.
1:45 p.m.  4:00 p.m. Robotics or Scratch programming activity.
4:00 p.m.  6:00 p.m.  Legos and games Note: Children will also be allowed to work on their robotics and/or coding projects during this time.
